Ambassador Lucky Isaac Yargwa, Nasarawa State Commissioner For Youths And Sports Development has said that Team Nasarawa is a force to recon with in both National and global sports competitions, while he commended the Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency, Abdullahi Sule for his passion for Sports and Talents Development in the State.
Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa made this remark on Saturday, 4th December, 2022 at the Press Unit of Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba as the Nasarawa State Commissioner For Youths And Sports Development brief Journalists expressed joy that Team Nasarawa participating at the 21st Edition of the National Sports Festival tagged: # DELTA-ASABA NSF 2022 will finish strong as top ten highest medal-winning States in Nigeria.
Nasarawa State Commissioner For Youths And Sports Development while commending the organizers of the National Sports Festival; Federal Government, Delta State Government and other development partners for keeping to the standard thumbed up for Delta State Government for the excellent facilities, coordination, accommodation and others for his Team and other participating States in Nigeria.
In his words: “So far, Team Nasarawa has won three medals- one Silver from Para- Table Tennis and two Bronze coming from Taekwondo Events( Poomsae individual and Poomsae Team Events”.
“Some of our athletes are already in the Medal stage in some sports. In Day three we have taken some medals. We are expecting more medals from our Team. I want to assure you that before the end of the Festival, Team Nasarawa will be among the top ten highest medal-winning States. In all of these sports, we are confident of surpassing our previous medal records. We will reward handsomely any athletes or Coaches who win a medal at the sports Festival”.
“Our athletes are main actors. Nasarawa State Government will continue to give priority to those who work hard to win medal at the sports Festival. We charge the Athletes and Coaches to justify the huge resources invested in them by Nasarawa State Governor, H E, Abdullahi Sule. Governor Abdullahi Sule had redeemed his 16.5 Million Naira pledge to athletes who won medals at the 2021 National Sports Festival in Benin City, Edo State. Nasarawa State is a force to recon with in both National and global sports competition”.
“Team Nasarawa use this medium to commend Governor Abdullahi Sule for his huge investments, passion for Sports and Talents Development in the State. Governor Abdullahi Sule is currently embarking on construction of sports Infrastructures across the State to create room for leisure, talents discovery, development, and revenue generation”.
