****UNESCO Laureate Commends Government of Ghana On UNACCC Approval

UNESCO Laureate & Africa Head, UNACCC, has commended the Government of Ghana to had officially approved the Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council (UNACCC), an official partner of the United Nations and other organizations worldwide as a duly registered international organization with Ghanaian Government while commending the efforts of Prof Sir Jerryson Ameworgbe Gidisu on success.

Shocknaija Media (News Online) learnt this from the Africa Head, UNACCC, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a press statement today being Wednesday, November 12, 2025 which was made available to Journalists by Aremu’s Executive Assistant On Media, Publicity and Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike in Asaba, Delta State Capital as UNESCO Laureate Commends development.

According to the First African UNESCO, the group’s as duly registered, the approval by the Government of Ghana was marked with registration number CG071071025 and TIN: C0066335833, is a significant milestone for the organization. As the Africa Chairman Board of Trustees of UNACCC, Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu has highlighted the framework to promote climate-resilience in Africa. The framework outlines the council’s vision, mission, objectives, governance structure, and programmatic areas.

The statement by Prof Aremu reads in part: “First abd foremost, I want to say a big thank you to Government of Ghana for this approval, due recognition given to our global Climate Change Organization, UNACCC. The vision of UNACCC is to promote climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts in Africa, Our focus is basically on sustainable development, environmental protection, and community resilience”.

“The mission of UNACCC is to provide leadership, guidance, and support to African countries in addressing climate change challenges. The council’s objectives included amongst others are: Advocacy, policy support, capacity building, research and development, and international cooperation. The programmatic areas focus on climate change mitigation, adaptation, research and development, and education and awareness”.

‘”The governance structure of UNACCC included amongst others are: Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu as the chairman Board of Trustees also comprises esteemed individuals with expertise in climate change, sustainable development, and African affairs, and a secretariat responsible for day-to-day operations’

“UNACCC plans to partner with international organizations, African governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector to support Africa’s climate change efforts. The council will also engage in fundraising efforts as well as source for grants, donations, membership fees, and corporate sponsorships”.

“The approval of UNACCC as a partner of the United Nations and other organizations worldwide is a significant step towards addressing climate change in Africa. With Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu at the helm, the council is poised to make a meaningful impact in promoting climate-resilience and sustainable development on the continent”.

“As UNACCC begins its work, it is expected to make significant contributions to Africa’s climate change efforts. With this comprehensive framework and partnerships, the council is well-positioned to support African countries in addressing the challenges posed by climate change”.
