The Delta State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Kenneth Okorie has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his emergence as PDP Atiku’s running mate for the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
Comrade Kenneth Okorie disclosed this in a press release made available to some group of Journalists today being on Thursday, 16th June, 2022 as the leadership commended the Delta State Goverbor for being picked as PDP’s Vice Presidential Candidate.
Recall that the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) choice of running mate for its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was earlier this week narrowed down to three Governors from the South-South geo-political zones of Nigeria with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Governor Emmanuel Udom of Cross Rivers State.
The Youth leader noted that NYCN leadership in the State and South-South geo-political zones is happy with the way and manner the party has handled its political permutations by avoiding the wider agitations on the existence of different religious groups in the country- Muslim-Muslim tickets and critical political concerns.
Comrade Kenneth Okorie who doubles as the South-South Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria stated that Okowa’s choice is necessitated as a result of his calmness, humility, grassroots political experience and at this point in time Nigeria is looking for leaders who have the Youths at heart and ready to give victory to the party come 2023.
He further stated that, PDP as a party did not make a mistake by choosing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate.
He added that , Deltans, South-South, Nigerians, especially the Youths we see the need to work with the party having considered one of their sons in that position, that is, the PDP National Caucus has finally today picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as Atiku’s running mate to the party’s Presidential flag-bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
