The Newly Installed Diokpa of Elibujor Village in Asaba, Delta State, Ogbueshis Joseph Onuorah on Wednesday warned against all forms of unethical, criminal activities among the youths in Asaba, saying that any of them who indulges in such activities, would be severely sanctioned.

Ogbueshis Joseph Onuorah who spoke to Journalists on Wednesday after he was installed on Thursday 1st February, 2024 by the people of Elibujor Ogbeogo of Umuonaje Quarters, said that the ancestral laws forbid anyone to be indulged in an unwholesome activity, and assured that he would improve the wellbeing of the people through his installed position.

Ogbueshis Joseph Onuorah explained that the tradition and Customs of his people are hinged on traditional values with respect to the rules, disclosing that Indigenes are cautioned when derailing with a view to ensuring he or she jettison the core values of the Culture and appealed to the federal and state governments to provide succour for the present perilous times especially with the high cost of living.

Recall that the people of Elibujor Ogbeogo Umuonaje Quarters in Asaba installed Ogbueshis Joseph Onuorah as the Diokpa of the Village following the fulfilment of traditional rites as their Custom demands while it was approved by Elders, Titled Kinsmen, and members of the family.

Speaking to Journalists, the Okeogbe of the village, Obi Nkadi Mokogwu disclosed that the customs and traditions were followed to the letters, adding that ” Today, Asaba has a setup of administration OGBUESHI ONUORAH INSTALLED AS DIOKPA OF ELIBUJOR VILLAGEThe people of Elibujor – Ogbeogo of Umuonaje Quarters in Asaba Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State, Thursday 1st February, 2024 installed Ogbueshi Joseph Onuorah as the Diokpa of the village, following the fulfillment of traditional rites as custom demands.The installation was done at the Ogbueshi Joseph Onuorah’s compound in Umuonaje with the approval of elders, titled kinsmen, and members of the family present”

Speaking further Okeogbe of the village, Obi Nkadi Mokogwu disclosed that customs and traditions were duly followed to this point.” Today, Asaba has a setup of administration arising from the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, who is the ruler of Asaba down to the head of every quarter.”“Each quarter has a Diokpa (Ihu) and the quarter has different villages; these villages have their respective heads called Diokpa. Today our village, Elibujor – Ogbeogo installed Ogbueshi Joseph Onuorah, alias Eze-Udo as Diokpa in the village.“one of the criteria includes: being son of the soil and having passed the contest with others. Whoever wins becomes the Diokpa, as the custodian of the village spiritual and in ramifications

Speaking on the sideline, the celebrant, Ogbueshi Joseph Onuorah, Ezeudo 1, Ahaba Kingdom, revealed that the installation was based on merit and time adding that the process was followed according to the culture and tradition of the land, not by age or status. My honest prayer is for God to give me the strength to serve my people right.“My community is my priority; governing them right in peace supersedes every other desire. My profound gratitude goes to the elders and other chiefs.
