The leaders of African Democratic Congress (ADC); H.E Dr. Chukwuka Monye, ADC former 2023 Presidential Aspirant & current National Leader, Hon. Chief Kenneth Gbandi, current ADC Deputy National Chairman & Former ADC 2023 Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Engr. Okolie Chukwuekwu Austine, Delta State Chairman, ADC, has enjoined the party’s candidates in the forthcoming July 2024 Local Government Election to work-hard as their victories will be secured as party leaders stated that the election is a “litmus tests” to Governor Oborevwori political integrity, therefore called on DSIEC leadership to be neutral and allow the will of the people to prevail.
The media learnt this on Friday, June 7, 2024 as the National and State Leaders of African Democratic Congress (ADC) met with its candidates at the State party Secretariat in Asaba, Delta State capital Delta as ADC party leaders brainstormed on way-forward towards securing victory for the party come next month, July 2024 local government election in Delta State.
The party leaders had assured its candidates in the forthcoming Local Government election in Delta of the party’s support which is a follow up of the election activities to ensure that the will of the people, that is the electorates prevail during the forthcoming July election in Delta State.
Those party leaders present at the meeting with ADC party candidates for the forthcoming Local Government election in Delta State included amongst others are: ADC Delta State Chairman, Engr Okolie C Austine. The Former Presidential Aspirant and National Leader of the party HE Dr Chukwuka Monye, The Former ADC Delta North Senatorial Candidate of the party & current ADC Deputy National Chairman, Hon Chief Dr Kenneth Chibogwu Gbandi.
Others are: ADC Delta State Secretary, Hon Chief Yebi Ebu Napoleon Ck, ADC Administrative Secretary, Mr Nwabuzo Nonso, and most importantly the ADC Candidates for the forthcoming Local Government Area Election in Delta which included amongst others are: Mr Okpah Steven Okolie, Mr Abia Okamadu, Comrade Randy Ugbejie and the host of others.
Speaking at the meeting during the brainstorming sessions as witnessed by our reporter, the former ADC Presidential aspirant & National Leader of the party, Dr Chukwuka Monye charged the candidates to go back to their various communities, political wards and polling units and return victory to the party.
“He said: “The only genuine, renewed hope in Delta State is now ADC. Also, we call on the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) on the need to remain neutral and allow the will of the people to prevail. Anything short of that will not be tolerated. We also, Charged the candidates to work for their victories by ensuring that they win the election. Every candidates of ADC should not be intimidated of electoral manipulation rather they should work hard to win the election at the polling units for everyone to see they won and leave the rest”.
ADC Deputy National Chairman & Party’s Former 2023 Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Chief Dr. Kenneth Gbandi, has assured the candidates of the both ADC State & National party leaders maximum support as he Charged candidates on the need to double their efforts towards reaching out to the electorates in their various localities. He said: “The only deciding factor in the election is the electorates. We call on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to play his fatherly role as the father of the State in ensuring that free, fair and Credible LGA Election is guaranteed as all eyes are now on him as a litmus test”.
Finally, ADC Delta State Chairman, Engr Okolie Chukwuekwu Austine, who doubles as the Delta State Treasurer, Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), has also assured the candidates that their victory will be secured. He said: “The only thing we expect from the candidates is to win the election and that is all”.
