Prof Abiodun Amuda-Kannike, World renowned Professor of Law & Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has been commended by The First African UNESCO Laureate & HRH Duke Of The Kingdom Of Atlantis in Singapore, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu on his recommendation to Federal Government of Nigeria, Security Agencies to utilize the relevance of Artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle incessant Kidnapping and killings in country in the just concluded May 23, 2025 KWASU Faculty of Law workshop.
Crown university VC made this remark today being Monday, May 26, 2025 in a press statement personally signed by him, which was made available to some group of Journalists in Illorin, Kwara State capital by The First African UNESCO Laureate’s Executive Assistance On Media, Publicity and Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike as Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu hails Kannike’s recommendations on solution to insecurity in Nigeria.
Prof Abiodun Amuda-Kannike , a Senior Lecturer in Department of Jurisprudence & Public Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete, World renowned legal Luminary during his presentation at the KWASU Workshop held at Ilorin stated that,
“It is high time the security personnel are empowered to go electronic; utilize Artificial intelligence AI such as robots to check criminal networks in Nigeria rather than chasing kidnappers by physical means, this will improve service delivery in that sector”.
“It is enormous and devastating the effects of insecurity on the nation’s economy, social life and political environment. We advise Nigerians to always assist security agencies with useful information to expose and prosecute crimes. We all have to assist the security agencies on intelligence gathering to work with. It has to be by secret or direct information to the security operatives, because information is key to stop the tide of incessant killings and kidnapping in this country. We recommend further that Governments should provide job opportunities for the teeming youth so that they can be meaningfully engaged as a way of addressing the challenge of insecurity”, he added.
Reacting on Prof Abiodun Amuda-Kannike’s recommendations during a One-Day Workshop at Ilorin as organized by Department of Jurisprudence & Public Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete on the theme: ‘The Role of Government to end the menace of Kidnapping and incessant killings in Nigeria”, World Acclaimed Distinguished Research Universities Professor of Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, The First African UNESCO Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has hailed the development, Amuda-Kannike’s e- security initiatives on the use of Artificial intelligence (AI) such as robots towards curbing incessant Kidnapping and killings in Nigeria.
The press statement by VC CUICI , USA, Prof Aremu reads in parts: “First and Foremost, I must commended the organizers of the One-day Workshop by Department of Jurisprudence Public Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete. Artificial intelligence AI refers to ability of Computers or Machines to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making, perception and predictions. Artificial intelligence embraces all aspects of Technologies and techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, Natural Language processing as it creates room for automation, adaptation situations on e-security initiatives . This will no doubt, provide solution complex security issues or challenges facing Nigeria as a country”.
