…As Executive Director of the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative Promises To Deepen Sustainable Development Goals & Ecosystem In Delta State, Nigeria.

As part of efforts towards encouraging development Activists, critical stakeholders working in the thematic areas of the Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs and ecosystems , the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Warri (Centre For Sustainable Development), FUPRE-CSD, has honoured Delta-born Girl-Child and Women’s Advocate, Executive Director of Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative, Ms. Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou with SDGs award as “Sustainable Development Goals & Ecosystem Ambassador”.

The media learnt this from Ms Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou today being Thursday, April 27, 2023 during a brief chat with some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital while reacting to the media questions on why she was honored with SDGs Ambassadorial awards by the University Management of FUPRE-CSD, Warri, Delta State.

Speaking to newsmen, she commended the leadership of FUPRE-CSD, Warri Delta State while stating that, the Ambassadorial award was presented to her by Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Warri in recognition for her positive contributions towards deepening her development works for the actualization of the SDGs and for distinguishing herself through her activities geared at protecting the planet.

Quoting from the words of the FUPRE-CSD Centre Director, Dr. Elias Emeke Elemike on why she was honoured by the University Management with SDGs & Ecosystem Ambassadorial awards, he stated: “Popular in the activism of the Girl-Child Advocate, Ms Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou is her commitment in bridging the gender inequality gap as it relates to the participation of women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through her program tagged the Girl-Child Tech Project which engages women and girls to learn the installation and maintenance of solar energy system every year”.

“Through her organization, she also engages the female gender to learn other creative skills after which they are empowered with business start-ups which is aimed to curb crime , poverty and contribute to the economic development of the nation. Uyoyou is also known for her contributions in the campaigns against sexual violence especially as it relates to minors , rehabilitation and seeking justice for victims. Her work has been focused on promoting SDGs 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 13 , 16 and 17”.

Ms Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou during the presentation of the award as Sustainable Development Goals & Ecosystem Ambassador had promised the centre that she will continue in her quest towards deepening SDGs and ecosystems in Delta State and Nigeria in general.

This event was held at the Nelson Mandela Garden and Resort inside the Asaba International Airport, Asaba, Nigeria during the 2nd anniversary of the Center for Sustainable Development, Federal University of Petroleum Resources which was held along side the World Earth Day with the theme ” Environmental Pollution the Elephant in the room “.

According to her, those who were present during the presentation of the Award was Dr Newton Jibunoh, the Desert Warrior who doubles as Founder FADE (Fight Against Desert Encroachment), Dr Andy Ilabor, Director General Directorate of Sustainable Development Goals- SDGs Delta state, Chief Godspower Asiuwhu, Commissioner for Environment, Deputy Vice Chancellor Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Hon. Festus Agas, Chief of Staff represented by Mr Ifeanyi Mok, and many other dignitaries.
