…….As Okowa’s Aide On Job & Wealth Creation Commends Governor Okowa On Cushioning, Mitigation of Ravaging Effects of Flood In Delta.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa On Job & Wealth Creation, Patrick Okei (A.k.a Papa ASIAGWA) has commended the Executive Governor of Delta State and PDP’s Vice Presidential Candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for the proactiveness, rapid response of the State Government towards cushioning, the mitigation of the ravaging effects of flood menace while he commiserated with flood victims in Delta State.

Hon. Patrick OKEI made this remark while fielding questions from some group of Journalists today being on Saturday, 22nd of October, 2022 in Asaba, Delta State capital as he sympathizes, sends words of consolation, prayed for God’s divine support to those victims of flood in the State as he Commended his Boss, His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for responding speedily to the plight of the victims.

The Governor’s aide, Hon. Patrick Okei sees flooding as one of the most common environmental hazards in Nigeria with increasing vulnerability of populations and Infrastructure. According to him, “this menace is an environmental problem, an age-old phenomenon. It means a significant rise of water level in a stream, lake, reservoir, or coastal system that overflows the banks, which can be natural or man-made disaster that causes discomforts, destruction of lives and property as well as pollution; with different types such as river, coastal or urban flooding”.

He Commended the Executive Governor of Delta for its proactiveness towards responding to the needs of the victims of flood in the State by setting up IDP Camps (Camps for Internally Displaced Persons in all the 25 Local Government Areas of the State with adequate provision of relief materials to support the victims to cushion the ravaging effects of the menace. He commended the State Government for mobilizing funds, resources to support the victims even as he described Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a great leader and a humanitarian with the interest of Deltans at hearts and prayed for God’s divine elevation upon his socio-political desires.

He also commended the courage of the victims on heeding to the call for relocation to non affected areas of the State, especially to various IDP Camps as set up by Delta State Government. He lauded the committees set up by the State Government to see the day to day running of the activities in the State IDP Camps for their commitment even as he urged them to see the work as service to humanity. The entrepreneurial giant while praying for God’s support, consolation, guidance and protection upon the victims at this trying times called on good spirited Deltans to put smiles, support the victims with their resources.

Rtn Okei, a member of prestigious Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International is a Federal Poly, Oko graduate of Mass Communication. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of Benin has first served as the Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community Development in 2015 to 2019. He is a business guru, Entrepreneurial giant turned politician and former PDP aspirant for Aniocha South Constituency Seat for the 2023 general elections in Delta State. He was the first Chartered President, Rotary Club, Ogwashi-Uku Gateway.

The Governor’s aide also commended all the critical Stakeholders, Non-governmental organizations, and International agencies that had in one way or the other complemented the efforts of the State Government as he expressed joy on way and manner Delta State Government is led by his Boss, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has responded to the plight of flood victims in Delta State by cushioning the effects to prevent, control and totally reduce discomforts, destruction of lives and property and other devastating environmental hazards on Deltans and consequences on the Socio-economic development of the State.
