The President-General, Delta Youth Coalition (DYC), Comrade Chibuzor Agunwa (a.k.a Mr. Dash), has congratulated the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as Supreme Court upholds today the Judgement of the appeal court, rules in Oborevwori’s favour as the Delta PDP Governorship Candidate for 2023 general elections in the State.
DYC in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists today being on Friday 21st Day of October, 2022 in Asaba Delta State capital as group applauded the Supreme Court Judgement that affirms the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chief Sheriff Oborevwori as the Delta PDP Governorship Candidate.
Delta Youth Coalition while thanking God Almighty for giving victory to the Delta 2023 PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the group Commended the Judiciary as the last hope of common man.
Comrade Chibuzor Agunwa (a.k.a Mr. Dash), also commended all the Supporters of Oborevwori in the Sherification Movement for their calmness and Steadfastness while awaiting the Supreme Court Judgement between Edevbie and Sheriff, while thanking Deltans for their confidence in the Judiciary as part of our democratic experience.
Today, being on Friday, 21st day of October, 2022, in line with the Judgement of Appeal Court, the Supreme Court affirms Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori the Guber Candidate of Delta PDP for this 2023 general elections, our reporter gathered that, the lead Judgement which was prepared and read by Justice Tijani Abubakar as presided over by Amina Augie, a five-man panel of Supreme Court Judges, Justice Amina Augie held that, “the Court of appeal was right to hold that the suit of Mr. David Edevbie was wrongly commenced by way of originating summon rather than by writ of summons.
Justice Abubakar has held: “On the hold I find no merit in the appeal, and it is hereby dismissed. The decision of the Court is hereby affirmed”. This confirmed the verdict of the Supreme Court in favour of Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as the Delta 2023 Gube Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
DYC Leadership while rejoicing with Oborevwori on his victory at the Supreme Court stated that whom God has blessed no man can course. The group then used the medium to call on Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and David Edevbie supporters to unite and work together, embrace one another for the interest of PDP in Delta State so as to clinch victory in the forthcoming general elections in the State.
