Oborevwori Assures Deltans of Deeper Infrastructure, Welfare Gains as Delta’s 2026 Fiscal Plan Hits ₦1.664 Trillion

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has presented a proposed 2026 budget of ₦1.664 trillion, assuring residents that the fiscal plan will deliver stronger infrastructure renewal, expanded social welfare, and improved public services across the state.

Laying the proposal before the State House of Assembly, the governor said the budget was crafted to consolidate ongoing projects while scaling up investments that directly impact communities.

He stressed that roads, education, healthcare, and security would receive priority attention, noting that the administration intends to accelerate delivery timelines and ensure greater value for public spending.

Oborevwori described the 2026 budget as a people-focused blueprint aimed at tackling emerging socio-economic pressures.

He reaffirmed his commitment to transparent implementation, promising Deltans that every major sector, especially agriculture, youth development, and MSME support, would benefit from targeted interventions designed to strengthen livelihoods.

He added that the increased budget size reflects both rising revenue expectations and the state’s determination to sustain development momentum despite economic headwinds.

The governor urged the Assembly to give the proposal timely consideration to allow early commencement of critical projects in the new fiscal year.

With the ₦1.664 trillion plan, the administration says it is positioning Delta State for steadier growth, improved welfare outcomes, and deeper infrastructure gains in 2026.
