Tradicional Rulers in Delta North under the aegis of the Delta North Traditional Rulers Fórum have described the late Asaba monarch as an icon and great leader who has left indelible foot prints in the sands of time.

The Delta North Royal Fathers made the remark when they paid a condolence visit to the Asagba’s family in Asaba.

The Vice chairman of the Forum and Obi of Abavo kingdom, Uche Irenuma 11 who led the delegation said the demise of Obi Professor Chike Edozien was a great loss not only to the people of Delta North but the entire State , Nigeria and the world at large. He extolled the leadership qualities of the late Monarch saying that he made enomouse contributions to the growth, progress and development of the Forum as chairman until he joined his ancestors recently.

The Vice Chairman of the Forum, recalled that it was the during tenure of the Asagba as the Chairman of the Delta state Traditional Rulers Council that he used his position to champion and secure approval for the five percent monthly allocation to Traditional Rulers by local Government councils across the country.

He urged the family to take solace in the fact that the late monarch made great impact during his earthly sojourn saying that he came , saw and conquered.

Speaking in the same vein the Secretary of the Forum, and Obi of Atuma Iga, Daniel Ogbaudo described the death of Obi Chike Edozien as a big blow to the kingdom and humanity.

Obi Daniel Ogbaudo said the Asagba would be remembered for the unprecedented growth and development of Asaba during his reign as the king of Asaba and wished the family well.

Responding on behalf of the family, Chike Edozien Jnr thanked the monarchs for the visit adding that the visit was a moral booster to the family even in the period of mourning. Traditional rulers from across Delta North Senatorial district were part of the delegation.
