The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Feruk Humanitarian Foundation has said that, FHF, a reputable international Non-governmental organization based in Delta State will continue to redefine humanitarian intervention towards contributing to positive change in the society as stakeholders urged citizens a difference in their various professions.
The media learnt this from the CEO, Feruk Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Okoro Anthonia who spoke alongside other stakeholders pen-ultimate weekend during a one day general public seminar of the foundation held at Health Management Board, HMB Hall by Marble Hill Junction, Okpanam Road, Asaba, Delta State capital as stakeholders urged citizens, CSO leaders to make a difference in the society.
Feruk Humanitarian Foundation, FHF, a reputable international Non-governmental organization is positioned to impact positively to the society. FHF is working in the thematic areas of Youths and Women development, economic development as well as providing humanitarian assistance to children, adults who are poor or struggling economically; restore dignity of those in need; to promote quality health, food, agricultural mechanized, community support services; succour to less-privileged citizens; provide.
The event which dwelt extensively on the theme: “Redefining Humanitarian Intervention: Speaking The Truth To Ourselves” had different speakers such as: Host & CEO, Feruk Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Okoro Anthonia, The Founder, Project MODIBBO Peace Initiative Dr. Longji Dambok, Banker, Humanitarian & Development Advocate, Dr. Ameer Lukman Haruna, Assistant Director, Investment & Loan Department, Delta State Ministry of Finance, Vice Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Delta State Chapter & Public Relations Officer, Delta State Ministry of Finance, Florence Nwabuonwu (JP), and National President, Association of Indigent & Persons With Disabilities, Dr. Ifeanyi Joseph Chikunie.
FHF CEO, Ambassador Okoro Anthonia who welcomed the guests at the occasion commended the, CSOs, Stakeholders, speakers and all the participants for making out time to attend the general public seminar of the foundation, while she then urged them to support the foundation towards the fulfilment of its mission and vision statement as well as reaching out to the rural areas, grassroots populace through Sensitization and awareness creation for the growth and development of the society.
Speaking further, she noted that the essence of organizing the event in line with the theme is to sensitize citizens of Delta State, Nigeria in general on the need to redefine humanitarian intervention in their various communities, professions, society by refraining from corruption; positively impact their environment; contribute to positive change in the society.
During the general public seminar, one of the speakers, Dr. Longji Dambok while dwelling on the theme, had harped on the need for parents to teach their children, guide their wards on good values, attitudes that will make them better adults in future. Another speaker Dr. Ameer Lukman Haruna who dwelt on the topic: “Making a difference with the little you have in your immediate environment had urged stakeholders to imbibe the spirit of volunteerism towards contributing, impacting positively to their immediate environment or society.
Other speakers such as Florence Nwabuonwu (JP), Mr Iduwe Jude who dwelt extensively on the following topics: “The Civil Servant As An Instrument In Fighting Corruption: A Basic Necessity To Save Fund To Help The Vulnerable In The Society harped on the need”, “The Feminity & Corruption” as they stated that Civil Service and Humanitarian services are inseparable as duo helps in checkmating government to avoid corruption, wake government up to their responsibilities of providing essential services to the citizenry as civil servants drive the process.
Florence Nwabuonwu JP also, urged stakeholders to work towards empowering women, women to believe in themselves, support themselves and to strive for leadership positions in the society as they are agents if positive change. The event witnessed among others conferment of patrons and presentation of appointment letters to some committed members of the Foundation. The CEO finally at the close of the event thanked God for the success of the occasion and the participants for coming and contributing to the success of the event.
